Monday, May 10, 2010; from Arnhem to Valkenburg.
We get up at 8am and have breakfast in peace. After coffee, we eat a currant bun for lunch. We need only to leave at 2pm. First we get money out of the wall on the marketplace and then we drive in one go to Valkenburg in South Limburg (Netherlands).
We arrive at 4pm in Valkenburg, almost simultaneously with my brother and my oldest nephew. SIL gets the keys at reception and we drive to the cottages. It's always exciting to see how the houses will look like.
We are going with 4 people in a 6 person house, so that's nice and spacious. We have 3 bedrooms and 2 toilets. The main house is bigger, there may be 10 people. It has 5 bedrooms and 2 toilets.
SIL goes straight into the kitchen to make coffee. That tastes good after the trip. Everyone gets his stuff from his suitcase and bags and makes his bed. I take my souvenir from Scotland also from my bag. It is a needle book with a thistle on it in the making.
Brother comes to pick us up for food: sandwiches with hamburger, cheese, tomato and salad. After dinner we examine the possibilities for excursions and we decide to go the next day to Maastricht. At half past nine eldest sister goes to bed. I write journal and then have plenty of time to stitch before we go to bed.
Holiday bungalow park.
